Start a free call in KakaoTalk → When your friend picked up the phone, press Talking Tom or Talking Ben’s icon on call status bar to change your voice to either character’s. How easy! :)
Talking Tom and Talking Ben voice filters are available on Android v3.4.1 and iPhone v3.1.0.

KakaoTalk’s free call feature officially opened up in Korea as well. Up until August 2nd, the service was in beta mode in Korea. Now that free call is available for all users in every country!
(August 2nd is actually the anniversary of Alexander Graham Bell’s death and birthday of Elisha Gray, the two fathers of modern telephone.)
What makes KakaoTalk’s free call feature most fascinating is the ‘Voice filters’. Click the filter icons on status bar and you will sound like an alien or a monster. The hilarious voice will make your friends laugh out loud.

Here are the new features of this update.
■ ‘Contacts sync’ feature
Now it became possible to find friends from your device’s own contacts.
As you can see from the screenshot, click on friend’s contact-info, and at the bottom, You will see the KakaoTalk icon.
The icon will link you directly to the chatting room with that friend. Friend’s real time status message will be displayed as well. Now it became even easier to find and chat with friends :)
■ Check before you leave!
Have you ever left a chatting room by mistake and lost conversation logs? And the evidence that a friend owes you something got lost and you went like this? 
Don’t worry, now a pop up message will warn and ask again if you REALLY intend to leave the room. The pop up message will prevent data loss occurring from unwanted leave or click by mistake.
■ Screen adjustment for tablet devices
Tablet users, were you annoyed by unnaturally expanded KakaoTalk on your device? Broken and awkward images looked really bad right?
Here’s the solution. Scree adjustment feature will optimize KakaoTalk screen for your own tablet. No more broken image and font, it will just fit in your screen.
*Currently, Screen adjustment will be possible for tablets with xlarge resolution.
■ Other improvements and fixes
- Free call quality enhanced on Samsung Galaxy devices (Thank you Samsung!)
- File share and download speed in certain countries has been enhanced
